My clientele has really picked up over the last couple of months. They are getting their education in social media and online marketing via pre-recorded modules, group chats, and private video calls, among other resources. So why are they coming to me?
TECHNO-SLO-MO! They are drowning in it.
People only see the glamour in running a business from home using online resources. They don’t see the mounds and mounds of work leading up to what is displayed on the screen. Okay, well, maybe that’s not entirely true. I’ve had my fair share of website shame and technology mishaps while building my business, but that’s the way I am. I tend to dump all my thoughts out, implement something….anything….and see what flies and what doesn’t. I scrape myself off the pavement or grab the nearest life ring and start again. It’s hard, and I have the scars to prove it.
The ones who come into your world to learn what you can teach them do not see what went into your creations. You think I haven’t ended up in a pile of tears on the floor after an embarrassing public humiliation? Do you think my fancy funnels and automated processes took a couple of days to create? Try months of trying one thing, failing, trying another, failing, and then maybe getting some traction on the next one. Some people take years. It’s overwhelming when you don’t know what you’re doing.
It wasn’t until I hired a technology coach and then a sales & money coach and did the hard work I didn’t want to do that I was able to straighten out my messes and generate income. I still make mistakes, and so will you. They’ll hurt. You’ll dust yourself off if you want it bad enough.
Running an online business, having the full picture in mind for success, and implementing the processes you are given are key to being successful. If you do not get a handle on that much, you’ll be paying dearly for someone else to save you every time, and that feels like drowning.
The only way out of it is to learn how to swim or to have indispensable income. But who has unlimited funds? Exercise the tech muscle, and you will be empowered with the knowledge of how to direct your business efforts. Ignore those muscles, and they will not work for you. You’ll be paying someone else to do it for you over and over again until you are so weak and broke that you lose your passion for what you dreamed of doing in the first place. Some people are rare and get past it, but most of us don’t. I’m a “most of us” kind of gal hoping to change the world one blogpost or training module at a time.
So grab that life ring on your way into my programs. I’ll teach you how to swim, so you won’t need it later.

Sally is a strategy and tech coach helping people maximize online software and juggle business on-the-go. Her step-by-step video tutorials teach entrepreneurs how to use tools while she coaches them on strategy and analytics, so they can be responsive to the performance of their campaigns. Her website is Go-Sally-Go.com.
Sally has been an actuary for over 20 years relaying complicated statistical analyses in a simplified format to hundreds of clients to help them make sound financial decisions regarding their insurance portfolios. After living life as an adult carrying the weight of everyone else’s burdens on her shoulders (and her waist and hips), she lost about 50 pounds by learning to take the time to enjoy the journey. Shedding the baggage of her past helped her drop the weight, then she became an online fitness & nutrition coach. Seeing other coaches struggle with the social media side of things, she developed a company to teach them how to use the tools they need to have successful online businesses.
Sally lives in Nashville, TN, is married to Robert and has 3 daughters and a Golden Retriever named Sunny.
